in the summer time

It is the 31st of May and it feels like the first day of summer. Finally, the temperature has gotten over 20 degrees C. Today there is nothing better then a tan and a old cut-offs that you´ve had since you where like, eight. Mungo Jerry on the radio also helps. I decided to post some real summer shots, taken in a park earlier this year. Hope they get you in a summery mood.

Hmmm, I have a tiny phobia for birds. This turkey looked really scary! I love this shot, because of the gleam in the feathers. It almost looks like armor. Have you ever noticed that the turkey has really beautiful feathers and tail, but its head is so ugly? That why I like this shot. Its a mixture of beauty and beast in one photo. 

These were more my pace. I love white birds, despite my little phobia. Doves and swans are a definite favorite. I know... sometimes I´m such a girl!  

Alp roses are beatiful in April/May. There was a whole bush in full bloom, but flowers like this always make good close ups. I love the macro function, but in this shot I just had very low aperture value, combined with a shutter speed of 140", or something around there.

This colorful peacock came passing by. It looked gorgeous in the sunlight. I love the way peacocks look somewhat arrogant. This beautiful bird is also the national bird of India, and I think it is sacred or something over there. Very understandable when you look at the beautiful colors and the unique look of the peacock. Really, have you ever seen anything like it?
